Surprise

we changed our name to Preacher’s Sons.

It’s just a little more fitting, 100% true, and has less of a probability of becoming offensive at some point.

So long Native Americans (don’t worry we won’t create a new Trail of Tears).

It’s too hot to do anything productive in the garage today.  It’s so humid the bass won’t even stay in tune.  Better luck next time.

We’d like to thank those of you who came out to the show tonight for your support.

Tomorrow I’m planning on spending most of the day recording.  If all goes well we might have a new demo or rough mix to post at the end of the day.  Sleep late tomorrow.

Summer of Songs

This summer we are going to try our best to record at least one song per week until we’re out of songs to record.  We currently have about 10-12 songs written and I’m sure we’ll have a few more by the end of the summer. Assuming all goes as planned and we don’t get too behind schedule we should have a full-length album available as early as August or September 2009, followed by another EP at the end of the year.   Keep checking our MySpace and this blog for updates as we play more shows and upload more songs!

We appreciated all the feedback we’ve been receiving at our recent shows and are happy people are enjoying the new material.  Hope to see you Friday at Biola.

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Here is a demo of a new song called “Salt of the Earth.”  I wouldn’t feel right not giving credit where credit is deserved. The narrative of this song is loosely based on Flannery O’Connor’s “Good Country People.”
